Trade in and Trade Up

We offer a “Trade in/Trade Up” policy for customers who are already radio users and want to trade in for new and updated equipment. This helps you by giving you a credit against your old used equipment and helps by allowing us to re-furbish and restore your used equipment to a state where it could be an attractive investment for others who maybe do not have the budget for “new”. We like to consider this as an environmentally friendly way of re-use and part of our “green” policy.

Although we try to offer the best trade in for all equipment, we obviously need to ensure that we can either re-furbish for re-sale or use for spares any equipment returned so we have to consider equipment returned carefully. We then, once accepting a trade in, test and service the equipment, replace any old or faulty batteries, microphones etc and then offer for re-sale as “second user” (we don’t like to say second hand as this implies no warranty or support) with suitable warranty from us as part of our service.

We offer a typical trade in value of £15 - £35 against any portable or mobile radio returned for credit against a new radio. Prices are dependent on age and make/model of equipment offered for trade in and make/model required for replacement . Please contact our Sales Department for an exact quotation for your used equipment.

We accept most major makes for trade in/trade up including Motorola, Icom, Kenwood, Kirisun, Maxon, Team Simoco and Tait. We do not accept Entel, HYT or Vertex equipment within our Trade in offers.

Equipment for trade in must at least switch ON, but can be in a used, scuffed condition. We will check and advise an exact trade in price with no obligation once we have received and given a quick check over. Of course, in order to “get the deal”, we will take your advise what you have available and agree a price verbally which we will honour.

Trade in is based on a 1 to 1 basis. In other words, if we agree a trade in of £15 per radio returned, it will be a one for one deduction against new equipment. Ie. One old radio is credited against One New Radio.

Please contact us with your requirements for new equipment and what is available for trade in and we are confident we can be of assistance.
